In childhood, we learn to cope with our environment and the people in it. Our childhood coping behaviour creates "shadows" or in other words, behaviors, patterns and thoughts that continue to live in the unconscious mind and influence the way we interact with the world. (In Jungian psychology, the "shadow" is an unconscious aspect of our personality that can be positive or negative but remain hidden and therefore prone to influencing our behaviours unpredictably.)

Although these coping strategies served us well in childhood, they often create conflict for us as adults, but are so ingrained that we do not recognize them or know how to change them if we did. Maya Nicole will demonstrate how we can become aware of our shadow conflicts with a hands-on process that can help us work through these shadow behaviours.

Maya will guide us with  an "Inner Child" meditation that connects  with the “little you” that lives inside us. When we are children, our parents or caregivers are not able to meet all of the needs and desires that we have. In addition, we learn that certain parts of ourselves are not “good”, snd therefore these parts get suppressed and stored in our subconscious, which leaves us feeling as though we are not whole.

Our “little selves” needed unconditional love, mirroring, attention, healthy boundaries, affection and validation that we sometimes did not receive, so this mediation is an opportunity to parent your inner child the way he or she did not get to be parented in the past.

With discussion and Q&A afterward, Maya will be sure you leave  feeling lighter, more self aware and inspired to do the difficult work that changes every aspect of your life for the better.

Maya Nicole is an intuit and empath who’s passion is to create space for people to put their masks aside and discover what’s underneath. She has an undergraduate degree in psychology and a masters degree in social work. She combines western psychology, specifically Carl Jung’s shadow work and inner child work, with alternative medicine. Her strong intuitive senses allow her to guide people to gain access to the parts of their subconscious that drive their self-limiting behaviors and patterns.

Maya has spent the last three years traveling the world where she studied with and was certified by the world renowned spiritual teacher, Teal Swan. She also studied ancient Shamanic healing methods with the indigenous peoples of Mexico and with the Katukina tribe of the Brazilian Amazon.

Maya focuses on guiding men and women to understand and uncover the divine masculine and feminine power innate within them. In her practice, she also specializes in healing work for couples and authentic, conscious relating between partners. She enjoys being the catalyst for people to live a life authentically from their hearts and to have fulfilling relationships with themselves and the people around them.
