When Edgar Cayce, "the Father of Holistic Medicine," was under hypnosis, he could see through a person’s body, no matter where the person was physically located, even hundreds of miles away, and give a reading. Not only could he provide medical knowledge such as the cause of disease and its treatment, but he could answer questions on the workings of the universe. How did he acquire and develop this incredible ability? Why did God give this enigmatic power to Cayce? Through major illnesses of his age, the movie focuses on the life of Cayce and the mystery of the readings with the help of Shigeru Mitsuda, the president of the Edgar Cayce Center in Japan.

"The Readings, A Key to Spiritual Enlightenment” ( 90 min) will be shown and discussed.

While many of us are familiar with the work of Edgar Cayce, many in Japan are being newly introduced to Cayce by the filmmaker who leads the Japanese ARE Center, Tetsu Shiratori. "ARE" stands for Association for Research and Enlightenment, an organization headquartered in Virginia Beach that carries on the knowledge of Edgar Cayce.

Local ARE members will be on hand for a Q&A and to let you know how you can experience more of Cayce’s wisdom in the local area. Whether you already know about Cayce or are new yourself, you will find it energizing to watch this fresh point of view of fantastic information.

Did you know that Cayce made over 14,000 otherworldly journeys in his life and the information he gained from these journeys has astounded people all over the world In 1910, the New York Times carried two pages of headlines and pictures in which he was declared the World's Most Mysterious Man A national magazine ran an article titled, Miracle Man of Virginia Beach, and Cayce was swamped with an avalanche of 25,000 requests for medical help. In fact, President Woodrow Wilson sought the services of Edgar Cayce for healing and guidance while he was President of the United States and conceiving the idea of the League of Nations. Cayce is also considered to be the father of holistic medicine by JAMA, the prestigious medical journal.

My Dad used to mention Edgar Cayce. Could you please give me a description of the presentation on Thursday evening. Do we have to preorder tickets or can we get them at the door?

    Thank you,
    Susan

Hi Susan, it’s a film showing with a Q&A discussion afterward lead by some local ARE members who follow Casey’s work. It’s an opportunity for an introduction to Cayce and his work by knowledgeable people. See the details on the event page on our website. If you are pretty sure you’re attending, it’s best to register so we can reserve enought seats.

      You’re welcome,
      John
